Number of Users or Mailboxes Allowed |

Background: SECNAP does not charge 'per user or per maibox' on the SpammerTrap Appliances. We do charge per user on the Hosted services. One user can have multiple email addresses, aliases or domains that point to the same user. A multi user distribution group will not have a user, but will have an email address.
The maximum number email addresses on the SpammerTrap Appliance is dependent on several issues: - Are more than 50% of the users in the same TimeZone? A large company or national based ISP will cover multiple time zones.
- Will all users be connecting to the SpammerTrap to set up individual whitelists or blacklists? With an ISP, this would be yes, but a big company might be no.
- Will the same SpammerTrap be used to filter inbound and outbound email?
- Are there multiple SpammerTraps in a load balanced cluster?
- Will mail quarantine be deleted after 7 days or less?
- How much quarantine space will they be using.
- Will all the users be using the advanced features?
- If the company has multiple domains, are they all 'aliases' of each other? Is

?
- Will the company be using a secondary anti-virus scanner or be using the one built into the SpammerTrap?
- Clustering in SME-500 and above models can add 9*9 (9 nodes in a cluster, 9 clusters in a group) for 4MM email addresses suggested max for Clustered GEM-25000s (2MM users with an average of 2 email address per user would be around 4 Million email addresses suggested maximum)
If additional mail quarantine space is needed, either for compliance reasons or other, additional storage space can be purchased or quarantine messages can be stored on a remote quarantine drive such as on a SAS, or NAS. |
