SECNAP Network Security has an opportunity for an Associate Security Engineer with a background in Network Engineering and related fundamental concepts. Hands-on experience with existing tools is paramount. The ideal skill set might look like this:
- A solid understanding of networked/distributed computing environment concepts
- Routing and switching
- Internetworking protocols
- Client/server programming
- Experience in Internet and network security issues
- Knowledge of vulnerability scanning techniques using both conventional and unconventional tools
- Knowledge of Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDPS)
- Familiarity with encryption standards and tools
- Knowledge of and experience with firewalls and security appliances
- Knowledge and experience with various Operating Systems, including Microsoft and Unix
- Desire to learn and share knowledge
- Clear oral and written communications skills
In addition to knowledge of Network Engineering and Operating Systems, applicants should possess one or more professional certifications, such as:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (Professional) (CCNA/CCNP)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
- Unix Administrator
