SECNAP Vice President Jim Garrity Named to CRN Magazine's 2009 Channel Chiefs List
Boca Raton, Fla., Feb. 3, 2009 – SECNAP® Network Security Corporation, a leading provider of network and email security solutions, today announced that Jim Garrity has been named to the Channel Chiefs list published annually by CRN Magazine. Last year's list of vendor Channel Chiefs covered the spectrum from industry giants such as Microsoft (NSDQ:MSFT), Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HPQ), IBM (NYSE:IBM) and Cisco Systems (NSDQ:CSCO) to an array of upstarts, startups and up-and-comers. "I'm honored to be in such prestigious company," said Garrity, "and it's important that security vendors continue to be well-represented in the channel." Technology experts convening at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland last month noted that online theft costs a trillion dollars a year globally and the number of cyber attacks is rising sharply. "SECNAP offers highly effectively protection against these threats with the most advanced email and network security solutions on the market today, and they are instrumental in our partners' success," he added. In discussing the firm's top accomplishments, Garrity noted that SECNAP continues to add new partners to its channel program, including partners focused on selling SpammerTrap® hosted anti-spam services. "We've also established strategic partnerships with some major players in the VAR and Distribution space," said Garrity. "These relationships are expected to increase channel sales of our SpammerTrap email security solution exponentially in 2009." Responding to CRN's request to name three innovations in the past year that were of greatest strategic importance to the SECNAP channel program, Garrity highlighted the introduction of a hosted email security solution; roll-out of a more advanced entry-level model, the SME-150; and feature enhancements including email archiving, encryption, content filtering, SSL certificate import and mailbox-based routing, along with a robust reporting package. "These innovations significantly increased the competitiveness of our flagship product, the Email Security Gateway Powered by SpammerTrap, for our channel partners," said Garrity, who was recently interviewed about the company's next-generation spam solution and channel program by eChannelLine.com. Garrity joined SECNAP in October as vice president of sales and marketing, and is responsible for its SpammerTrap email security solutions and network security product suite.
