SECNAP SpammerTrap appliances are available in seven models to support a full range of email users. For details visit our Email Security products section.
While our appliances may be purchased at one-time prices with annual service, our IONSPAM hosted services are billed monthly based on number of users.
It is possible for one user to have multiple email addresses, aliases or domains--all pointing to that user. A multi-user distribution group will not have a user, but will have an email address. These factors should be taken into account when determining which appliance model is most appropriate.
In similar fashion, the maximum number of email users supportable on a given SpammerTrap appliance model is dependent on the answers to several important questions:
- Are more than 50% of the users in the same time zone? (Smaller firms tend to be located in a single time zone, while enterprises and nation-wide ISPs cross multiple time zones. If the work day is extended due to multiple time zones, capacity may be affected.)
- Will all users be connecting to the SpammerTrap to set up individual whitelists or blacklists? (With an ISP, this would be Yes, but for an enterprise might be No, for reasons of control. Creation and maintenance of individual lists may affect capacity to some degree.)
- Will the same SpammerTrap be used to filter both inbound and outbound email?
- Will quarantined email be deleted after seven days or less?
- How much quarantine space will users require? *
- Will SpammerTrap advanced features be available to all users?
- If the company has multiple domains, are they all 'aliases' of each other? (For example, is

the same as

?)
- Will the organization be using a secondary anti-virus solution rather than the AV built into the SpammerTrap?
- Will the organization be adding capacity by clustering multiple SpammerTrap appliances?
Clustering is available for most models (SME-500 and up). Clustered configurations can extend support to additional users, as outlined below:
- SME-500 - Normal capacity 1,000 users / Clustered capacity 2,000
- ENT-1000 - Normal capacity 2,000 users / Clustered capacity 18,000
- ENT-2500 - Normal capacity 4,000 users / Clustered capacity 36,000
- ENT-5000 - Normal capacity 7,500 users / Clustered capacity 67,500
- GEM-10000 - Normal capacity 20,000 users / Clustered capacity 1.5 million
- GEM-25000 - Normal capacity 40,000 users / Clustered capacity 3 million
* If additional mail quarantine space is needed, for compliance or other reasons, additional storage space can be purchased or quarantined messages can be stored on a remote quarantine drive such as a SAS or NAS.
